Los Angeles–based artist Abel Macias is a painter, illustrator, builder, and designer whose work blends the vibrancy of Southern California with influences from his Mexican heritage. Known for his fearless use of color and playful, handmade aesthetic, Macias creates pieces that radiate warmth, joy, and an easy sense of spontaneity.
His series Los Animales features framed acrylic paintings on handmade paper, each one reimagining animals and botanicals through bold, prismatic shapes. At 28.5" × 38.5", the works combine saturated color, geometric forms, and nature-inspired motifs to create lively, dreamlike compositions that feel both modern and deeply expressive.
