The Stairs by Idamast Textile Art

$10,500.00

Scandinavian textile artist Isa Dahlin bases her art in an evolution of the traditional use of linen, using more coarse materials like sisal and paper yarn. Damask is a weaving technique that makes it possible to create textile images by switching between warp and weft. Originally from China and The Far East, Damask was brought to Europe in the 13th Century. The weaving technique was refined in Damascus, Syria, hence the name Damask. European Crusaders brought damask from Syria to Europe.
